I'll admit it sounds a bit unhinged but there is a repeated pattern of "new technology discovered" leading to "old technology made illegal". Its going to happen with ICE cars [1], it has happened with ICE lawnmowers [2], its going to happen with gas stoves [3], heck, NYC might effectively ban coal fired pizza ovens in the chase of net zero [4]. I'm not a climate change denier but I am worried about this pattern continuing[5], making the average person's life worse off while not actually doing anything to combat the biggest sources of pollution because it would hurt international capital.
You are right that authorities try to push the burden on the small guy. Look at the paper straws "solution" - not a wrong idea per se but compared to the fishing nets it's merely a blip. Also the ovens do spread microparticles and are often forbidden during summer heat here in Switzerland. But. While all this is true and helping a little bit, yes, we should focus much more on the BIG causes of trouble, and cattle unfortunately are one of them, just like fossil fuels.
