Java is one of the least capable contenders at this point.

All those thousands of lines of C++ code, you can easily use them in any language you choose, except for Java.



It's actually reasonably easy, you just write a shim that can be linked as 'extern "C" {}' and then use jni. (I find it much easier than, for example, cython)


This even works for Fortran.
