The reason stuff went wrong at that conference was because of the actions of one attendee, who specifically did not go through the process the conference organizers set up for dealing with reports of harassment.

I think you err'ed in looking for something specific rather than general in this post.

Having run conventions for a decade or so now, I'll buy it, we have many of that type.
