A tiny minority of my steam library even runs at all. Most games I click Play, nothing happens, 5 seconds later the play button is green again. The ones that run, stutter. Is it still possible if I persist? Probably, but so much for this "just works" marketing.

I had the same problem. Installing vulkan libraries fixed that for me.
