I would never buy a Tesla, but $595 including installation for a new turn stalk, new steering wheel, different and steering wheel control module seems like a good price.
This is far below typical dealer parts pricing for these items on even an very low-end car, and this includes shipping and installation.
I never would have bought one in the first place due to this design. And many other things.
Does feel a lot like when companies sell hamstrung products just to force you to pay an “unlocking” fee for full functionality that should have been there from day one.

I agree a turn signal should have been included, but at these retrofit prices I don't think Telsa is making money. A simple turn switch from the VW dealer for a 20 year old Jetta costs about half of what this entire package costs, and that doesn't include installation or a steering wheel.
I suspect you’re right that this isn’t a money maker. Mostly I was going for the “it should’ve been there when you bought it“-ness of it. Even when I first saw this, and with my general distrust of them, it didn’t seem a ridiculous price to me.
