Model 3 Turn Stalk Retrofit (tesla.com)

I would never buy a Tesla, but $595 including installation for a new turn stalk, new steering wheel, different and steering wheel control module seems like a good price.

This is far below typical dealer parts pricing for these items on even an very low-end car, and this includes shipping and installation.

If I had one, I would pay it no question.

I never would have bought one in the first place due to this design. And many other things.

Does feel a lot like when companies sell hamstrung products just to force you to pay an “unlocking” fee for full functionality that should have been there from day one.

But clearly there are people who didn’t mind.

Understatement!

I agree a turn signal should have been included, but at these retrofit prices I don't think Telsa is making money. A simple turn switch from the VW dealer for a 20 year old Jetta costs about half of what this entire package costs, and that doesn't include installation or a steering wheel.

I suspect you’re right that this isn’t a money maker. Mostly I was going for the “it should’ve been there when you bought it“-ness of it. Even when I first saw this, and with my general distrust of them, it didn’t seem a ridiculous price to me.
