Or you can leave the default so that the reader gets the font they want, because they are the one reading it so it doesn't really matter what the author thinks looks good unless it is somehow relevant to the text.
Those are equivalent. You can just open your settings and change the font to whatever you like.
Also, if were really going off the argument of design - your font choice is almost certainly worse than whatever the OS does by default.
The OS, most likely developed by a multi trillion dollar corporation, probably chose a font that's highly legible and simple in a broad array of contexts.
Your font might be cooler, but is it better? Fat chance.
