Ask HN: Substack version history deleted a week of my work
5 points by richardatlarge 33 days ago | hide | past | favorite | 2 comments
SS says they don't do backup, but their version history save my file back to three days ago, losing about 40 hours of work. Any optons?

What kind of a system runs out of room and keeps the old version but quits saving the new one?

Thanks

Did you reach out to support to see if they have any options or are you saying what the helpdocs tell you?

I think we've all been burned by typing long-form anything into a web browser form, but it is very upsetting when it happens. The only solution I've ever found is typing in something like TextEdit/Notepad and copying it over when ready to post/save/upload/whatever.

Thanks - SS has basically zero support

Yes, it's a nightmare. Usually I have all kinds of duplication, but this time I got busy and distracted.

Appreciate it
