Can't you capitalize power costs to an extent by building a solar and battery array? A sufficiently wealthy company would have the means to find a place to put it that can optimise for both conditions I imagine. I am a total layman in this regard though so pretty happy to be told I'm wrong. Apologies if I completely misinterpreted what you're meaning.
