Doesn't Microsoft own 49% of OpenAI and receives 20% of the revenue (according to ChatGPT)? In which case, what is Microsoft so upset about?


That they only receive 20% of the revenue.


In hindsight, MSFT made out like a bandit in that deal since OpenAI seemingly tapped out of MSFT resources already. MSFT can always spin up its own LLM. It’s not that expensive for them and they can wait it out for tech to mature a bit more.


The issue is more about control and positioning
