I'm not necessarily suggesting anything but[0] that the safeguards are indeed there (related to the familial NON-SHAME-DERIVED* "no-child-left-behind" responsibilities long felt by even the giant corps imho), because,

Ofc, admittedly, there hasn't been a less biased source of insights on these matters since PKD (who suffered mainly from OCD, according to the non-fictional record)

*It's more closely related to the concept that every child is a gift from God, which could be a nice antinihilist starting point for the US

[0] I couldnt find the HN comment by a native that most companies had a policy to retain the weirdly unproductive (not rest&vest because these are never management[1], for obv reasons)
