Any additional publicity about this is a good thing in my book. When an application dumps a bunch of rubbish in my home directory, my day gets worse.

So many tools don’t even let you change that! I can forgive not defaulting to the XDG directories but when you can change it I’m just frustrated.

I saw the futo guys post their video app, lots of comments about their directory choices... And now a gentle reminder of some standards... It's a sign!!
