We do need to talk about it. There is a broad conversation about China that is desperately needed at every country who views them as an adversary. Asymmetric warfare, cyberattacks, espionage, intellectual theft, etc shouldn’t be tolerated. The problem is politicians in countries like America are plainly unqualified. They got into their position due to campaigning not “real” skills. They don’t really care about geopolitical threats, let alone comprehend something as technically complicated as this. The response so far isn’t spineless as much as just a non response due to ignorance. And that’s very unsettling.

As for the drone sightings that are referenced later in this article: one interesting theory I saw is that these are drones launched by Chinese nationals under direction from the Chinese government. They are launched from farmland that is owned by companies or individuals affiliated with the Chinese government. The farmland happens to be near sensitive properties, such as military installations. And while it could be spying, it may also just be a test or just a way to create chaos. I’m not sure if this claim is true. But I did find other sources and evidence for the claim that there’s lots of suspicious Chinese owned farmland spread around the United States near sensitive properties.
