You can call your bank (if you paid by card) to issue chargeback - you don't have the items ?
EDIT: misread, it's loong many pages thread
EDIT2: the machinery is crazy, if i don't have items, i would just deal with bank, how can something can be stolen from me if it's not delivered (assume there must be some signature in place for this amount of money? it's not pack of cigarettes in the box..) ?
For what it's worth, I am not the OP of the forum thread, but I found it interesting. I am especially fascinated that he was referred to the executive outreach team and they basically gave him the middle finger.
> Just spoke with Apple executive relations, the lady I’ve been in touch with. Decided to call her after her not replying to my email a week ago. She said she was the one in charge of the investigation and it’s done. Case closed.
> She said if the Police want to get ahold of Apple they can on their own and I explained to her that the police don’t know how to contact higher ups at Apple to explain the laptops were stolen, because they had to ask me for the number and she kept saying the Police should have a way to contact Apple. But they shouldn’t contact her. These are street cops that have never dealt with Apple before.
> She had a very cold demeanor. She just doesn’t want anything to do with me.
That - and the fact that Apple is using Uber Eats to deliver laptops in the first place.
Companies this large definitely need ombudsmen or something of that nature. A customer shouldn't have to navigate this mess when the evidence is available. I hope he doesn't get a black mark from apple and make it difficult for him to use iCloud stuff. It would be hard to use a mac now without iCloud.
I had exactly this happen with a new iPhone. An uber eats delivery driver stole the device that was marked as delivered. In my case it was replaced for free.
