The same is true for politicians, consumers, etc. Is that another way of saying the "Market" will dictate everything? I never thought about it this way in terms of politics. But may be some food for thought.

Accelerating this thought, the linked video is basically a primer on Systems Theory as applies to this problem. Use >1x speed if needed, but IMO it's worth it. Her talk is highly enlightening, and concept-dense.
