I am not really sure how much I like Propshaft over Sprockets. So the goal with Propshaft was to leave the burden of optimzing and bundling the assets to the modern browser? Why is that any better than precompiling before shipping to prod?

A lot of things are coming together in Rails 8. IMHO this is even more ground breaking than Rails 7 and Hotwire.

The amount of stuff you can do out of the box with Rails 8 is amazing.
