Locus of Control: How Managers Create Learned Helplessness (leadingsapiens.com)

This is all very interesting yet unfair to blame managers when everyone involved is a chaotic mess of self priorities. What is important is that we get work done and meet goals, if that happens I'm sure any dynamic would be welcome.

The problem with social optimism is it is short lived. Business pays to keep going, and people are fickle and change with their wants.

Most need to be managed, simple truth.

The rest is very interesting mulch for those interested in cognitive theories. The authors are otherwise quite information dense.

The conclusion however is that working dynamics are hard, and only as good as the initiatives of those who participate in them.
