A fatal accident involving a pedestrian who was looking at her smartphone has underscored how our screen addictions can have deadly consequences. Now authorities are trying to figure out how to tackle the problem.

I'd be happy to start with a draft bill "it shall be illegal to walk on a public street while distracted by an electronic device" and amend from there, as reasonable objections get brought up. I'm sick of yelling "Hello!" at people who are about to walk right into me.
