My 12 year old daughter is a decent writer, she recently checked an AI-marketed essay detection website and her writing got an 80% chance of AI risk assessment. She wasn’t sure what to make of that…
She is kind of demotivated about the technology when it comes to grading though, because the students who brag about using it to get good scores kind of make her feel like a sucker for trying. I try to tell her to ignore the cheaters, but we recognize sometimes they win materially in real life.
In class essays may have to be the future again. (Reminds me of the navy training how to use star navigation recently).
