Apparently Privacy is no longer a critical priority or function at Elgoog.
Makes sense, given all other recent public signals from them. The writing was already on the wall when founding privacy org leader Ms. Lea Kissner departed the goog in 2019 for greener pastures at Zoom and Twitter.
Overall it's disappointing, but not unexpected for Late Stage Capitalism.
Capitalism is not the issue here, but what happens when any large entity gains enough power.
Early stage communism would not be what I would consider a bastion of privacy, either.
Are they not the same thing? Marx thought that capitalism, unchecked, was bound to become centralised and monopolised, and create the conditions for the revolutionary transition to totalitarian dictatorship of the proletariat.
