It's never happened to me! Technically, the physical SIM card is still the property of the mobile carrier, in much the same way as a credit card is the property of the lender - you're renting the card as well as access to the service that it facilitates. Maybe Verizon has a company policy now not to issue physical SIM cards?

Verizon don't operate in my area, so I don't think my recommendations would be of any help^, but I would certainly take my custom elsewhere if their employees ignored me like they did you.

^ Might as well say anyway: I'm a satisfied customer of RWG mobile, who operate from South Wales and whose SIM cards work across the UK and (for a charge) the EU. They resell Now services, who themselves resell EE services. I'm not sure how the connection is so affordable with that many middlemen!

I called customer service today and they told me that the location should have given me a new SIM card without hesitation. That the employee shouldn’t have broken my SIM card.

I don’t care what backwards opinion or legalese Verizon believes they have a right to break my card in half. I pay them $80/mo at some point I’ve given them enough money to where I own the card. If I cancel my plan they are not going to seek the card from me will they. So I guess I own it. I trust that an employee for your company won’t ignore my request and break physical product in front of me to force me onto a controlled plan.

I don’t like that people are adherent to a company and take their bs as “well technically they control you”. No I am going to raise my standards and get off this lock-in Iphone and get off this lock-in phone service that both want nothing more than to try and tell me how to live my life.

Thank you for the reply and hopefully I did not come off antagonistic but I do not like this “sit back and take it” attitude the world wants me to have just because they have more money than me and can abuse the placation of the general public.
