Hardly at all, video decoding isn't parallelisable. It's often lumped in with the GPU but it is significantly different.

The question is about encoding. It is significantly parallelizable because you are doing a search for the best encoding you can find. Also at a micro level there are things like motion search for which vector ops are useful. So I would say that it's likely they will look into that.
