Love LLMs, diffusion models, the various audio transformers. Live the ecosystem, love the PoCs, I just love it. I use some sort ot gen AI model every day to great avail. I can do without the marketing hype to be sure, but to me this technology is still exciting, even after working with it for the last 3+ years, it's just sci-fi AF.

Yeah this is the same take I have! This field is currently both genuinely amazing and very irritatingly hype-y.

This is just the normal hipster take though; we're annoyed that something we love has "gone mainstream" and "sold out" :)
