My guess is that it was set to always prefer the Spanish audio track, and the 5pm program was the first to have it.

yea, it was just when the stations in that area started broadcasting in spanish. we tested it with another tv where that control was accessible.

Spain is 7 hours ahead of Central Time currently. Maybe the TV automatically reset at midnight Spain time?
