Sigh. What you describe is an issue that I have experienced too. I work in Business Intelligence and only discovered Apache Hop by accident. I think the issue is lack of SEO pushes some great products down the search results list. I actually now search Reddit or HN for software suggestions for a particular area. Just using Google will give you the list of best marketed solutions.
I didn't know any such software either but a week ago i heard of Apache SeaTunnel in a podcast. Apparently it also synchronizes Databases, underlying it uses flink or spark to move data.
Same here, and really sad I have not seen it earlier. By skimming through it seems like a practical no bs product. May still unearth some opportunities to test it.
