Did I understand the article properly? The most people are right-handed and it's neat to have the buttons the other way around for easier undressings of each other.

The same with trousers. I hate the buttons being the other way around.


I understood that the buttons on the women were reversed to make it easier for the maid to handle them (rich women did not dress themselves). Not that men and women dress or undress each other, lol. Anyway, this theme of reverse buttoning has featured in a number of murder mysteries and now I know why.
