Sharing the decks we used to raise a $16M Series A with A16Z (equals.com)

Hey HN community,

Bobby here, CEO and co-founder of Equals (equals.com).

In building Equals, we’ve learned so much from others. That’s why we try to pay it forward whenever we can.

2 weeks ago, we shared the deck we used to raise our $6M Seed round with @Craft (led by David Sacks).

Today, we’re releasing the pitch and data deck we used to raise our $16M Series A led by @a16z.

My top advice: Own the narrative.

Your pitch deck is a punchy story about your startup that doesn’t get lost in the weeds. Your data deck tells that story in numbers, allowing you to dive into business drivers in depth. Mastering both lets you set the tone, so you can preempt rather than react to questions.

Hope this is helpful for anyone thinking about starting and building a company. If you have questions or want to talk shop, email me at bobby@equals.com.
