We might pretend that we have no interest in women*, but it's just that after you get old enough the machinery just doesn't work as well and we don't want to majorly disappoint our new partners when we don't perform properly.

we're interested! We're still very* interested!

Remembering very recently disappeared Alan Arkin in his Oscar winning role...

You don’t need a stuffy to satisfy. You have fingers and a tongue and toys as options. You won’t disappoint!

First paragraph corrects the headline: 's/Older men/Middle-aged and older men/'

12th paragraph notes that the researchers tried to compensate for other factors, such as age and chronic illness.

With all the complex things which can cause lack of interest, or perhaps cause men to under-report their interest...I don't think this research actually tells us anything new. Sure, "have you long interest..." is a good public health screening question. But if the patient says "yes, I've lost..." - there are probably multiple reasons, and 2/3 those are not MD stuff, but MSW. (Or public policy, or ...)

Disease or symptom?

Maybe lack of sexual interest is merely a symptom of other issues.

For example; after menopause, some women no longer respond sexually due to hormonal and physical changes.

A man married to such a woman may lose interest too. So should he dump her for a younger woman as a matter of survival?

So I just remembered, "I still do not have any news sources from Japan, which must have important journalistic activity - let us check again the Asahi Shimbun, and see if it has RSS".

The submitted article is the one that greeted me in the Asahi Shimbun frontpage.
