Our math teacher was a bit of a savant. He gave us the option to have calculators in tests or do the math on paper and in our heads.

We picked calculators.

He formed the calculations so that every calculator choked on the numbers at a few strategic points and we had to do parts of it by hand anyway =)

We didn't pick the calculator option after that.
