People have removed all those things from their phones even though they are required to keep them there even though they aren't checked. The police can't check them all and the police don't even bother.
The CCP experimented with free markets just enough to diagnose them as a threat. But then, everything they don't absolutely control is a threat --- even their own people.
They are locked in perpetual conflict with the inherent nature of their own people. This a danger to themselves and the rest of the world.
Back during the 'most favored nation' debates of the late 1990's it was argued that capitalism would turn China democratic. Obviously that argument turned out to be wrong.
