That's exactly what people are trying to do by switching to Mastodon! And Twitter seems to be trying to prevent people from switching to Mastodon.


A service is trying to make it difficult for you to switch to a competitor. Surprise surprise.

In other words, the so-called "simple answer" is not so simple if you can't even post your Mastodon link on your Twitter profile.


It is, and shockingly for some, it's also exercising free speech to point out the hypocrisy. You can do both!


Sure, but that changes nothing about the hipocrisy or your right to speak up against it. It's fine to point out flaws in something you're not (or no longer) a part of.
