Well… Yeah, admittedly, “Spotify only” podcasts are fair and established business-practice, like "XBox only games", rock-bands signed up to a specific label, writers having a contract with a publisher and all. But let's remind ourselves what the word "podcast" used to mean. These were literally just RSS feeds with audio-files. A completely decentralized system by nature (ironically, unlike some modern decentralized systems like Mastodon, etc., that try to replace an established centralized system), monetized independently via adds or donations. Now it means just random long-winded badly produced talking-shows (in video format!) on YouTube and Spotify, mostly restricted to one publisher, copying being considered a pirate activity. So, while it's no different than Netflix-shows, really, it somehow makes me more bitter.
