Not a geophysicist but I feel extremely confident based solely on Fermi estimates, that humans do not have the capability to extract that much heat from the Earth even if we tried our best for thousands of years.


Never underestimate humanities ability to consume resources.

They thought the US had enough land that it would take 20 generations to settle (it took 2).

That being said, we should probably still do it. Seems like a slower death route.


population density is nowhere near efficient levels in most of the US though


Our willingness to do things in non-efficient ways is one of the ways we consume so many resources.
