I have 1gbps symmetric fiber with static IP so I run some of my backends from home. Works fine for years.


The upstream on my cable modem is about 1/6th what my college dorm-room[1] upstream was, and I'm not sharing it with 1000s of other people.

1: It was two T3 lines, but only half of the second line was provisioned, so ~67MBps vs today's 12MBps.


Ditto. No complaints.
