2. The article calls Trump's lies "lies", which is progress. We know that Trump was informed many times that no evidence points to election fraud in 2020. Trump decided to perpetuate falsehoods that he knows are false. That's lying.
3. The article says that in 2 cases, the Republicans cited "unspecified" concerns. That is, they don't even have conspiracy theories to back up their concerns.
I think this is part of the Republican plan to discredit voting. If elections don't produce "correct" results, voting must not be good in some sense. If Republicans just have "unspecified" concerns, nothing can be done except to scrap voting itself. Looks like they're only just getting to that conclusion. I'm interested in seeing what proposals they have to replace voting.
Luckily the Supreme Court is going to hear a case[0] that may give state legislatures carte blanche powers over elections, so if elections don't produce the "correct" results (despite being "designed" to guarntee them) they can simply be overridden. There's no reason to replace voting when votes don't actually matter.
They have identified the Achille's heel of the system: election officials. The actual votes become irrelevant if they aren't certified or can be over-ridden.
