Sometimes I miss iOS 6 (twitter.com/daniel31x13)

I suspect if someone made a basic line of phones that inspired/leaned heavily on the Palm Pre/webOS or older versions of iOS, it'd have a chance to break into the market over time (has to be a _long term_ strategy). It'd never be an Apple or Android but if the aim was to capture 5% and work off that, there must be a way to profit.

If those phones were affordable and they kept the interface consistent - no bells and whistles - while functional to modern standards (up to date browser engine etc). With a long game strategy they could tap into market of those who just want a phone that 'works' (a phone to make calls and check the odd email or website). Particularly elderly market or low tech market. A bit like the Nokia's of old - predictable, reliable and basic.

Android has so many flavours and variants I know many (non techie) types that dread upgrading phones.

The lighter shade of blue separating the blue of the title and the white of the line-items really helps readability. The totally white approach in use today makes everything appear as one giant group.
