This is such obvious clickbait, but evidently it works pretty well, according to the top banner it is the most popular article in the Chronicle right now. I'd expect to see more idiotic proposals like this, unfortunately.

Isn't this just a particularly incendiary example of an opinion columnist writing for attention? It's as much of a socially relevant "proposal" as me proposing which place might be good for lunch at the office today...

I'm sincerely trying to remember my time in SF, and whether or not the SF Chronicle is satire.
