I worked with a domain squatter at a previous job. Seemed to be a completely slimy business. He would scour the GoDaddy domain aftermarket and after purchase usually throw up a "<site here> is closed for business, but we are working with investors to get things back online shortly" sort of page in an effort to extort more out of the people.
