How timely. I was almost hit by a Tesla while on a run yesterday in San Francisco. The driver was not paying attention at all, slowly rolling through a stop sign. While this is one data point and could happen with any type of automobile, this type of behavior in "autonomous" cars worries me a lot - the carelessness other posters have noted in which these drivers put down their guard and think the car is going to do everything for them. They put their full faith in this nascent technology and therefore put others' safety at risk. Sure, I am very excited for this technology to mature, but in the meantime, let's not fool ourselves.
