How is it better than Obsidian, that stores files locally?
I didn't find any info about pricing, also I can't find how to delete a «project» (created three of them when I was randomly clicking all the buttons to understand better how your site works and now don't know how to get rid of them).
There's an abundance of note-taking / productivity apps and we've tried many of them before building acreom. Yet, we've had a difficult time sticking with them, mainly for 2 reasons:
1. The "all-in-one" interfaces are bloated with user-facing features in form of buttons, dropdowns etc. which makes them painful to use. Generally, these tools focus on organisation-first, capturing-second which also wasn't natural to our workflow.
2. Use-case-wise, the space is mostly fragmented. Some tools focus on note-taking, others on task management and few are all-in-one workspaces.
Like many others, we resorted to using simple tools like apple notes or even pen&paper with calendar. But why isn't there just 1 easy to use tool for our workflow?
This leads to our approach. acreom combines knowledge base with task management in 1 simple and functional interface.
Instead of building features which are user-facing, acreom's aim is to offload much of the organisational hassle from the user with text-to-data conversion - NLP.
Thus, the fundamental building principles of acreom are:
1. text-to-data conversion
2. capture-first, organise-later
3. private with no vendor-lock-in (export your data anytime, local storage & encryption coming out with our desktop app in the upcoming weeks)
