And the reason to say “no”? Baseless and purely ideological, or there’s something better not found?

Ideological? Yes! I endorse freedom and privacy. That is ideological.

Everybody know that Microsoft is pure Evil. When I imported PC's from Taiwan to Norway by the early 1990's, Microsoft was the closest anyone there came to the Mafia. They sent their lawyers in black suits to all PC shops and threatened to deny us to sell Ms Dos and Windows at all, if we sold any alternative. When that happened, we also sold DR Dos, QNX and SCO Unix with our PC's - to a small minority of our customers.

The thing is that Apple has marketed itself as an alternative to Microsoft and the equally bad Google. Now they had their coming out party to the Cult of Evil.

I am feeling sad, betrayed and pissed off. And I'm not just sitting here, passive, sucking it up. I'm saying goodbye to Apple, and I'm no longer spending my spare time testing my code for their platform.

And you surely have read how the proposed functionality works, isn’t it? If I read correctly, it’s on device matching by an algo. Your iCloud photos and privacy are safe and untouched. If you read through the docs, the barrier is on the device, before you upload to iCloud. This means, nothing leaves or eavesdrops your private stuff. I appreciate there are other guys from the teams you already mentioned, spreading chaos just for fun. Apple went as far as to confirm the feature is turned off if you disable iCloud photo upload. Can you remind me why should pedo photos be allowed to get to the cloud? If I had to be ideological, I’d say “whatever it takes to stop those pedo bastards”. Don’t you ?

No I don't. I oppose fascism in all it's forms.
