Well sort of, but perhaps what it made questionable is the stronger pitch that wisdom translates to mastery of go.

It goes both ways, my take is how it was perceived by some is as improve in go=improve in wisdom

There's a netflix doco that you'll enjoy. But essential AI beat the game of go and the world wobbled for a moment but kept spinning.
