Some say the study does not have such a convincing case and, lacking in a clear explanation of how it was conducted, probably could have picked up cross reactivity with other coronaviruses.

This came out 9 months ago.

The other interesting thing is the different covid strains detected. I think we are upto 4 now.

The variant in China wasn't as lethal as the variant in Italy. You saw the pattern when it came to the state. The east coast had a very high lethal rate while California / Oregan didn't. Things evened out over time. I always thought that pattern was interesting but never talked about.

Oregon.

It's been talked about, and loosely assigned to:

- people in NY being indoors more, with HVAC circulating virus droplets

- entombing patients in ventilators for a month, killing them

- SF and LA getting 50,000 airline passengers from China per week, thus contributing to herd immunity.

My theory was that people who work in NYC commute via very crowded public transportation versus those on the west coast mostly driving alone to work. This gave a huge head start to the virus.

i wonder will italians get stabbed and have their grandparents burned and beaten and have their restaurants trashed and have italianflu enter the lexicon and glass italy become a casual joke

wait a minute no one even knows any of this happened to asian americans? weird

At the beginning of the pandemic, Italy was the butt of the joke until everyone else got into the fun.
