Population risk of dying from covid in children is 1 in 2.6 million. Equivalent to a few thousand kids not getting a flu shot level of risk. If we don't have a flu shot law, this will be fine.

The core of your article is "we saw this < 10 times but we all need to be scared of it because we just don't know.
I think you're projecting a bit, I didn't ask you to be scared, I'm just stating it's less than optimal and that death isn't the only metric we should care for.
edit: and yes, we just don't know. Obviously getting a safe vaccine now is better than getting a safe vaccine in 2021, I don't think there is much to argue here tbh.
