Why does this poster have to post specifics when making a general statement?

Can you imagine responding to "everyone dies" with "please post specifics, thanks"?

From what I can see, this poster stated that no programming language is perfect, and I'm struggling to see why they need to back that up.


The original post wasn't just a general statement, it was inflammatory and accusatory. The poster stated that Elixir not only teaches programmers the wrong things, but that it leaves them damaged. Did not give a single example or explanation for their rationale.


None of that matters when determining whether or not they need to give specifics about something that is obviously true.


It was far from a universally agreed upon statement like "no programming languages is perfect".

It had criticisms without any explanations.

If someone makes a statement I'm skeptical of, I want to push for examples.
