I'm confused - the code for the landing page is about 690k, with a 760k background image, and the code for the "Play" section is another 333k. Are those the sizes you are thinking of when you mention fiber internet? I've never had fiber internet and the site loaded very well for me. Is there something I missed?

My guess, it's a decade-or-two-old sentiment from when effects like this weren't really doable in JS/CSS and needed animated GIFs.
