To me it makes it feel like a real, powerful tool. Clearly the process killing thing is a straight up bug that should be fixed, but I do hope VLC retains its utilitarian aesthetic.

I just care about the bugs and the quirkiness around how playlists work. I think the UI simplicity is refreshing as well.
