Do you have any source for this? I've not heard of any issues with Viveport that'd count as "scummy", just being an inferior app store to Steam. A search for "viveport controversy" finds nothing either.

Hmmm.... I thought viveport was doing the Epic games launcher style data tracking. I believe I am wrong about that.

However, being a terrible piece of software seems to be a common complaint, including breaking things unrelated to VR
