Of course the new API changes cannot block people what we were doing. The API has no way of knowing that Joe User will now share the non-public information.
In fact, an argument could be made that we were not enabling anything that was not enabled before. Joe User could already log in and see his friends' information and then go off and gossip. We just demonstrated that Joe would be _willing_ to gossip in order to hear more gossip. It was absolutely disgusting.
