No. I’m in engineering/desktop dev and very aware that if I ever switch to the web side of the world then I’ll either do very menial stuff like CRUD, or very complex stuff like scaling CRUD. Unless there are actual algorithms in what I do, I get bored very quickly!

I think it sounds like you should find a job with more algorithmic challenge. Games, finance, insurance, simulation, engineering.

Or just work on write the libs and tools. I don’t want to write a sql query I want to write a sql parser.
