IntelliJ Ultimate is still better even for frontend and node.


If you're like me who prefers having million tabs open you'll find vscode to be much easier on memory usage with multiple project windows open. Also the extensions are nice although i do not know how good they are versus intellij.


Maybe it's a workflow fail on my part when using VSCode but I like IntelliJ's multi-project handling very much (it mainly boils down to: one window per project, and if you relaunch it it will remember your open projects/windows, but also a few other small things.)


At work they pay the license for us if we want it but many of us (including me) still prefer VS Code.

(And FWIW, I have used Jetbrains products before I used VS Code.)


Yeah, I do both Java and JavaScript at work and had centralised on intellij before vs code came along.
